Know Your Kindred – Hannigan
Name: Hannigan
Clan: Tremere Antitribu
Generation: 9th
Embraced: 1907
Hannigan was an Irish immigrant in New York City when he was recruited to join the Sabbat. Proving himself very useful, he attained status as a True Sabbat. Since then, he has lead his nomadic Sabbat pack all over the country, causing problems for Anarchs and other Kindred. Hannigan is a tough individual who likes dangerous situations and keeping his pack strong. He believes the more dangerous the mission, the more powerful his pack will become and thus prove his worthiness as its leader. Hannigan is very bold and outspoken for a Tremere Antitribu, since few of that clan survive as nomadic Sabbat and even fewer become pack leaders.

Know Your Kindred – Yasmin the Black
Name: Yasmin the Black
Clan: Tremere antitribu
Generation: 7th
Embrace: 1958
Yasmin was an archaeology student working on an excavation site in Lebanon when disaster struck. Her party’s dig was financed by a British Tremere antitribu named Marnius. He was using the archaeologists to uncover the tomb of Sukhmet, an ancient Follower of Set. The group found the tomb and Marnius planned to reward them with death. But as his packmates began killing the mortals, Sukhmet arose from torpor and attacked the Sabbat war party.
He would have destroyed them all, but Yasmin staked him with a shovel. Marnius seized the opportunity to drain Sukhmet of all his blood, until there was nothing left but ash. He then turned and Embraced Yasmin, sealing her in the tomb with the other archaeologists. The next night Yasmin awoke with Sukhmet’s and Marnius’ blood flowing through her veins. She devoured her coworkers and dug her way to the surface where Marnius awaited.
For many years Yasmin traveled with Marnius, developing her Thaumaturgical skills. During this time Yasmin met Ezekiel. At first she disliked him, but soon grew to understand the Serpent and joined his Black Hand pack, hoping to learn more about who Sukhmet really was. She hopes that Ezekiel will one day become the Archbishop of Montreal, so she will be able to join the Montreal Librarians and learn the full history of Sukhmet.
Yasmin went missing in 1998 after her clanmate, Jacob the Glitch, committed suicide by walking into the daylight. The event happened right infront of Yasmin and it left her withdrawn and fearful that Gehenna was approaching. Her packmates tried to reassure her, but she was hysterical; everywhere she looked, she saw signs of Gehenna. During the day she dreamed that someone was calling out to her. The dreams became more vivid and lifelike. She begged Ezekiel to chain her to her haven, but it was not enough. One night Ezekiel found the chains snapped and Yasmin missing. On the walls she had written in blood “… and those who eat heart’s blood will flourish.”
Yasmin likes to play up her mystic image. She wears dark-hooded robes with symbols and markings. She is a mysterious and exotic beauty. Her flame red hair contrasts with her almost yellow eyes, which she never blinks.

Know your Kindred – Jacob the Glitch
Name: Jacob the Glitch
Clan: Tremere antitribu
Generation: 7th
Embraced: 1880
Jacob is a pawn under the control of the demon Metathiax; being used as a sensory conduit to spy on the vampires of Montreal. Wiping Jacob’s memory to prevent him from learning about his past, Metathiax released him into the city and cursed him with monthly episodes of complete amnesia, preventing him from ever advancing to a point where he could break free from the demon’s control.
Unknown to Metathiax is that the connection works in reverse; Jacob became aware of the subconscious fears of his demon master.
Jacob retains his memories for a single month before they vanish and he awakens the next night rambling in English, Greek, Russian, Latin and a multitude of other languages known to Metathiax.
For the most part Jacob is unintelligible, but there are moments of divine lucidity when he spouts off riddles, fragments of information and knowledge about Metathiax’s fears. The only thing Jacob can remember are potent Thaumaturgical rituals that no one can account for.
In 1998, Jacob, known for his amnesia and incoherent ramblings, became strangely lucid. He spent most of his time conferring with Noddist scholars and rumors said that he even offered to tech Thaumaturgy to anyone willing to listen to his incessant babbling. Then early one morning he met with his clanmate Yasmin, the Black and simply said “And so it is” and walked into the dawn sunlight. Some took this as a sign that Gehenna was coming and the Tremere antitribu of Montreal packed up and left.
Jacob was a small mousy Afro-Caribbean in disheveled clothes. He always looked confused and befuddled.

Know Your Kindred – Virstania & her Gargoyles
Name: Virstania, Mother of Gargoyles
Clan: Tremere
Generation: 8th
Embraced: 1111
Virstania was the youngest apprentice in the Tremere order to earn the rank of mage. But because she was so young she was not able to form friendships with the other magi, who saw her more as a curiosity than a colleague. Instead she turned to creating her own companions and made several constructs she kept as pets.
After one of them escaped her lair and caused a stir in the servant girls quarters. Goratrix found the creature and believed Virstania was ripe to aid him in his next project. Virstania was Embraced and after a year of tutoring at Goratrix’s side, she was put to work hatching the first of the Gargoyles. She bathed them in unwavering love and they responded to her as baby chicks to their mother.
When Goratrix was exiled to Paris in 1133, Virstania felt she had lost her only friend. She retreated to a cave near Ceoris and continued her work to perfect the Gargoyle race. As the years passed, Virstania has come to care more for her creations than her fellow Tremere. She hoped to someday make them an independent race of their own, one that both magi and Kindred will fear.
When the Gargoyles finally went rogue, they look Virstania with them to teach them Thaumaturgy and care for their needs.

Know Your Kindred – Malgorzata
Name: Malgorzata
Clan: Tremere
Generation: 6th
Embrace: 1097
Malgorzata had a blade for a tongue, giving a verbal lashing to anyone who disagreed or disappointed her or her master Goratrix, whom she was fiercely loyal to.
Malgorzata was the sixth child of Romanian nobles forced into serfdom. Serving as a young field-worker, she was purchased by Goratrix. He sensed great power in the girl and made her his apprentice. Malgorzata became a coarser, less subtle version of her master, emulating and exaggerating his most blatant traits. By the age of 13 she had become a full mage.
Her boldness and quick rise won few friends but won the admiration of other apprentices. She begged Goratrix to make her immortal like him, but Goratrix was not allowed to Embrace outside the Council of Seven. Instead he broke a lesser rule and made her a ghoul. For decades she begged him to lobby Tremere to her cause, finally gaining the Embrace a tortuous 75 years later. The long wait made her bitter towards Tremrere and towards Etrius, whom Goratrix blamed for his master’s cautiousness.
A great Tzimisce offensive in 1105 crushed all the Transylvanian chantries outside Ceotis. Needing a weapon to fend off the Tzimisce and their allies, Goratrix with Malgorzata at his elbow began experimenting with human and Kindred anatomy. Malgorzata kept the other Tremere focused on their work by reminding them their lives depended on the project’s success. In 1121, the first of the Gargoyles was unveiled. By 1125 the Tremere had created enough of them to turn them loose. The Gargoyles turned the tide in their war against the Tzimisce.
When internal politics exiled Goratrix to France, Malgorzata stayed behind at her master’s command to undermine Etrius’s rule. While Etrius is away from the Ceotis chantry Malgortzata began disobeying his orders and started her own faction of loyal followers, hoping to one day supplant him.
After Goratrix left the clan and joined the Sabbat, Malgorzata remained his eyes and ears until the 1570s, when Tzimisce anarchs captured her during a raid. Taken prisoner and tortured, she revealed all she knew about Ceotis’s defenses and Tremere’s plans. Goratrix found her several tortured decades later, but left her there to linger.
She spent the next several centuries bound to heated iron bands and twisted into a writhing, mindless thing. In the early 20th century she was discovered by Lucita, Anatole and Beckett. By this point she was a horribly deformed, insane, thirst-crazed Cainite. They did the right thing and after three tries, succeeded in finding her head and cutting it off.
Malgorzata presented an image of cold and commanding beauty. Her eyes were the color of a clear wintry sky. Her brown hair was often decorated with glittering gold jewelry set with gemstones. Within Coreris she wore traditional magician robes. On journeys she dressed like a Hungarian noblewoman.

Know Your Kindred – Lord Ephraim Wainwright
Name: Lord Ephraim Wainwright, “Imp”
Clan: Tremere
Generation: 8th
Embraced: 1821
Ephraim is a scholar’s scholar. He sees omens and divinations everywhere, which he records in his black journal. In life he was a dwarf, living a life of hardship. But a Tremere named Aidan Lyle felt compassion for him and made him a ghoul.
After a lifetime of servitude, Ephraim proved to be a very bright apprentice and was embraced. He made his home in London, buying an estate and continuing to advance his knowledge of blood magic.
Ephraim has a particular interest in the Daughters of Cacophony and in the magical properties of music. His latest book, Songs of the Eve of Gehenna, has been decried as inflammatory by Camarilla and Tremere elders.
Ephraim knows many, many paths and rituals and will use them without hesitation. It is ill-advised to stand in his way.
